ADMSC is a minimally invasive procedure where stems cells are collected from fat cells found in the abdomen.

Bone Marrow Aspiration Concentrate Therapy (BMAC)

BMAC is a minimally invasive procedure where stems cells are collected by aspirating the bone marrow from the back of the patient’s pelvis using a small needle. Performed in an office setting with local anesthesia and with little or no discomfort. The aspirate is then placed in a centrifuge to separate the stem cells from the rest of the bone marrow aspirate. The concentration of stem cells, called bone marrow aspiration concentrate (BMAC), is then injected close to the injured or diseased tissue using diagnostic image guidance.

Stem Cell Therapies and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Frequently and where indicated, Dr. McConnell combines stem cell therapy with PRP treatment. Stem cells need to be directed to the area needing regenerative healing, and the platelets are the directors. Once activated, the stem cells are capable of repairing the damage to an orthopedic injury in an accelerated time with pain relief resulting within 2-3 weeks.

Is stem cell therapy safe?

Adult stem cell therapy involves the use of a patient’s own cells (autologous) with no possibility of the body rejecting the new tissue formed. Therefore, stem cell therapy is very safe and very effective. This treatment greatly accelerates the patient’s normal rate of healing.

Is stem cell therapy effective?

Dr. McConnell routinely combine stem cell therapies with orthobiologic treatments such as platelet rich plasma (PRP). This is a concentrate of platelets from the patient’s own blood. PRP releases growth factors into diseased or injured tissue. These growth factors stimulate the stem cells to regenerate new tissue.
